There is no shortage of options when it comes to the beaches of La Jolla. Sunbathing, swimming, and sand castle-building are the order of the day at La Jolla Shores. Surfers seeking the perfect wave are sure to catch it at Windansea Beach. And those seeking sublime snorkeling and scuba diving will not be disappointed at La Jolla Cove.
Downtown La Jolla
Just a short walk from the Pacific Ocean, downtown La Jolla is a great place to hang out. You'll encounter unique boutiques, first-rate restaurants, and cool cafés serving refreshing coffee drinks. Culture vultures will appreciate the various galleries along with the Museum of Contemporary Art.
La Jolla Golf Courses
If you're looking for a challenging round of golf, you'll want to tee it up at world-famous Torrey Pines, which features two championship 18-hole lay-outs that overlook the Pacific Ocean. Birch Aquarium
Though it's located at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego, Birch Aquarium welcomes the public to come in and explore. There are over 60 habitats featuring a variety of fish and invertebrates that live in the waters stretching from Mexico to the Pacific Northwest.
Mount Soledad
This special landmark features a Korean War veteran's memorial along with some of the coolest views of San Diego. Cycling is also common on Mount Soledad thanks to the many scenic bike trails. In addition, this is where the last home lived in by the beloved children's book author Dr. Seuss is located.
