Greystone Hotels Honors Earth Day With Annual "Day Of Service" Initiative & Nature Conservancy Donation. All 11 hotels in Greystone portfolio donate portion of gross room revenues from April 22, 2017 to the Nature Conservancy

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April XX, 2017) - On April 22, San Francisco-based Greystone Hotels honored its commitment to the environment by participating in the 47th annual celebration of Earth Day. All 11 of Greystone's California and Oregon-based properties donated a portion of proceeds from Earth Day gross rooms revenue to the Nature Conservancy. In addition, all Greystone employees participated in Greystone's annual "Day of Service" for local community partners. These partners include: Pine Nursery Park Cleanup (Bend, Ore.), Clean Pan Pacific Park (Los Angeles), Palo Alto Earth Day Festival (Palo Alto), 15th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup (San Diego), American Heart Association Teaching Gardens (San Diego), San Diego Rescue Mission (San Diego), Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce Spring into Green (Los Gatos), Sue Bierman Park Cleanup (San Francisco), and Glide's "Feed the Hungry" Initiative (San Francisco).

"Greystone Hotels is proud to demonstrate a marked commitment to the environment year round via our green efforts at the property level and through our involvement with various philanthropic environmental organizations," said Eric Horodas, President of Greystone Hotels. "It's fitting that we celebrate this commitment each year on Earth Day with a donation to an important cause like the Nature Conservancy and with time spent supporting our local communities."

Greystone Hotels is a long-time supporter of environmental conservancy. In addition to donating annually to the Nature Conservancy, the company celebrates Earth Hour with a yearly donation to the National Arbor Day foundation. All 11 Greystone hotels are also partners of the Clean the World organization, which recycles unused hospitality industry hygiene products to combat disease and illness both domestically and internationally. Greystone's hotels are continually recognized as TripAdvisor Green Leaders, and a number of properties are part of the California Green Lodging Program.

Earth Day Network's mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide. Growing out of the first Earth Day, Earth Day Network is the world's largest recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 50,000 partners in nearly 200 countries to build environmental democracy. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.
